The seminar will be dedicated to current affairs in the sector of energy industry. The main theme is the conflict between two concepts of future development of the energy industry in the CR - common "heavy" approach based on big power sources - coal and nuclear - and new directions - in particular renewable energy sources (RES) and de-centralisation. The main disputes are about new Act on Supported Energy Sources (currently in the legislative process in the Parliament) and connected National Action Plan of RES implementation, which was already sent to Brussels. Many experts claim that by adoption of these two documents would freeze development of RES in the Czech republic for many years and heavily worsen already difficult situation ot the whole RES industry, the industry which is in the rest of Europe and the world strongly supported. The comparison with the situation in Germany is extremely interesting in this light, as Germany sees RES as their way to the energy independence.
The seminar is aimed at the Members of the Parliament, experts in energy industry, RES and energy concept, and also the media. The admission is free, however previous registration is necessary.
