Smart Grids are one of the most frequently cited topics in the energy sector. Given the development of renewable energy sources, smart grids are becoming a way to ensure the secure and coordinated transmission of electricity in the distribution network. Some countries are launching the greenfield development of smart grids, mainly due to impending blackouts, while others see smart grids as another evolutional step after implementing the Load Management System. What are Smart Grids, how will they work and are they really the substitute for classic distribution grids in the near future? How will smart meters, electrical equipment and appliances that will communicate with the network and among each other operate? Will we be able to store energy efficiently? Will Smart Grids allow for decentralised electricity production and boost further development of RES? These and other questions will be discussed at the Smart Grids in the Czech Republic conference in September 2010.
Be ready for the future!
We look forward to your participation at this conference.
